Cookies and similar storage
Cookies are small records stored by a browser for a website. Some expire when a session ends; others remain until their expiry or removal. Local storage is a separate browser mechanism that can retain values without automatically including them in every web request. Both may fall under rules governing storage or access on a user’s device.
What the guide itself uses
The editorial pages and the supplied site script do not set cookies or use local storage for analytics, advertising, user accounts or contact drafts. The mobile menu, FAQ disclosures and scroll effects operate without persistent browser identifiers. No external video player, social feed or third-party analytics script is embedded in these pages.
If a separate site-level preference control is displayed, use its options to manage any storage it describes. A preference record is distinct from a message draft. Non-essential storage should remain off unless you make an affirmative choice, and declining should not prevent access to these informational guides.
Storage overview
| Feature | Storage behaviour | Your control |
|---|---|---|
| Navigation and article effects | Temporary page state; no persistent record in the site script | Close or reload the page |
| Contact draft | Held in the current page; not saved by the composer | Edit, clear or leave the page |
| Copy Message | Writes text to the device clipboard on request | Manage the device clipboard and its history |
| Download Text | Creates a text file on request | Manage or delete the downloaded file |
| Browser cache | The browser may retain downloaded site resources | Use browser cache and site-data settings |
Managing browser information
Your browser settings normally let you inspect and remove site data, restrict cookies and clear cached resources. The exact steps depend on the browser and device. Removing a preference record may cause a site-level choice control to ask again. Clearing website data does not normally erase downloaded files, sent emails or clipboard history.
Blocking storage does not turn an email into an anonymous message. If you follow an email link and send a message, the receiving mailbox will receive your address and the information you include. Read the privacy notice for more about correspondence.
External websites
Following an external link may allow that destination to use its own cookies or storage. This website does not control those services. Review their notices and settings before using interactive features or signing in.
Questions about a stored item
If you find a cookie or storage entry you do not understand, send its name and the page where you noticed it to [email protected]. Do not send the full value of a session token or any other credential. We can investigate more safely with the item name and general context.
